“Pilates not only offers a bridge between mind and body, between everyday life and optimal performance, between rehabilitation and healthy movement; it also offers a system that, when used to its fullest potential, can enhance every aspect of life.”- Rael Isacowitz, founder Body Arts and Science International
The Pilates Method is designed to reconnect the body and mind. By integrating the breath with movement, the practitioner develops mental awareness of the body, strength in the deep muscles of the torso, and the ability to efficiently execute movement of the limbs.
Commit to routine Pilates practice and develop deep muscular strength and body awareness, learn how to stretch safely and do it daily, and invest time and energy in your well-being.

Balanced musculature begins at ” the core” which consists of abdominal, hip, and back muscles. The core muscle group serves as our internal support network. Although there are many core strengthening methods out there, the Pilates Method intentionally incorporates a mindful component – physical strength and mental focus are developed simultaneously. For example, to safely train the spinal extensors one must first learn to engage the abdominal muscles for low back support and pelvic stability. Performed with body awareness, a Progressive Pilates Program provides the perfect platform for developing the abdominal, back & neck muscles without causing strain or injury.
With guidance you will learn to:
- Engage and control the deep muscles of the core – the abdominal, oblique, and spinal extensors
- Develop lean muscle mass and use it to move the limbs with fluid efficiency
- Master the movements of spinal flexion and extension, as well as lateral flexion and rotation
- Improve flexibility and increase lung capacity
- Identify habitual movement patterns and alleviate aches and pains through intentional correction
